Southampton host Blackburn in the second leg of the U21 Premier League cup final, live on Sky Sports 1.
Blackburn arrive at St Mary's after a scoreless first leg and Saints U21 captain Jason McCarthy, who has been with the club since the age of seven, is determined to lift the silverware for his boyhood club.
Few could have imagined how well this campaign would have gone for Ronald Koeman's side after a summer of doom and gloom, with Saints in the hunt for European qualification as the season comes to a close.
Wily additions to the group have played a key part in their success, as has the ability to call upon arguably the country's best production line.
Eight academy graduates have appeared for Saints in the top flight this season and many of them, including McCarthy, who made his first-team debut against Crystal Palace, will line-up for the club's development side as they have the chance to lift the trophy.
"The biggest occasion before was obviously making my first-team debut at Palace, but leading the side out in front of however many thousand will be great. I can't wait," he said.
"If I am being honest with you, I didn't expect as much first-team involvement as I have had. But I have been training really hard and playing well for the Under-21s and managed to impress the manager, which is important.
"Hopefully I can just push on from here. Now I am at this stage, I don't want to just rest on my laurels. I want to keep going, keep looking to impress the first-team staff and it would be great to top off the season with a cup winner's medal."
McCarthy's impressive development was recently rewarded by a new two-and-a-half-year contract at Southampton - a club he was first taken to watch by his father at the age of two, back at The Dell.
The defender still lives with his parents, five minutes away from the training ground in Totton, and remarkably still plays with a many of the same players he grew up with.
"In my current age group, there's four of us that have been there since Under-9s - myself, Jake Hesketh, Matt Targett and Ryan Seager," McCarthy added.
"We have come through together at the same time. It is mental to think, really, but that is just the same with any age group here.
